Learn more about the legend of Mozzy Moola
Mozzy Moola is a podcast primarily covering Muslim money, managing our financial affairs in the modern world(especially the West) from an Islamic perspective. It will also delve into other matters, hence the “other jazz”.
Mozzy Moola is hosted by Omar Haydar. Omar Haydar is a Michigander who accidently fell into the financial industry when pursuing an opportunity while in law school. His first foray was co-founding and managing the Dow Jones Islamic Index Fund, a niche and innovative index fund tracking the newly formed Dow Jones Islamic Indexes in 2000. Later, he also worked with Guidance Residential, the largest Islamic home lender globally, as well as various financial institutions in the GCC. He has also structured hundreds of millions of dollars in Shariah compliant transactions for employers and clients, provides consulting to individual and institutional clients, and teaches both educational classes and informational workshops.
Omar does not claim to be a scholar. He has a background in law, history and information technology, and has studied under many traditional teachers and scholars. He has also worked with some of the foremost scholars in the field. He has always regarded his primary calling as a community activist and educator, dedicated to challenging and uplifting humanity.
